Fareground Has a New Home!
Fareground has found it’s long-term home!! We just moved up the road in Beacon to 37 Lamplight Street (formerly Mary Kelly’s Restaurant). We are so thrilled to share this lovely spot with our friends and long-time neighbors, the congregation of Star of Bethlehem Church. They have purchased the building and will be transforming the former restaurant into their sanctuary. The basement is now Fareground’s home-base and we could not be more thrilled!

We are thrilled to welcome our new Executive Director, Jamie Levato.
Jamie has dedicated the past 18 years to the field of education. A certified teacher with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Education from SUNY New Paltz, she started her professional career working with children of migrant farmworkers providing supplemental educational support for students and advocacy for their families. In 2008, she launched her tutoring and consulting business which focused on early literacy. Jamie joined the team at Poughkeepsie Farm Project in 2010 to lead the education department. Over the course of 11 years, she grew the programming 10-fold reaching several thousand youths each year. Jamie has been gardening, cooking, and loving food since childhood and enjoys every opportunity to share her passions with like-minded individuals. While food justice has been at the core of her work for many years now, it will be her focus as the first executive director of Fareground. Please help us welcome Jamie!
News & words of thanks…
Note from Tompkins Terrace resident and coordinator, Robenia:
“At a time that many families faced food insecurity, the residents at Tompkins Terrace were fortunate to be provided with essential healthy options from Fareground. The residents, especially the elderly, are so very grateful to be able to plan around your scheduled visits to supplement their meal options. The Tiny Food Pantry has also been a godsend and it seems we are constantly restocking with new items due to its high volume use! I am so thankful that you were able to serve the residents at Tompkins Terrace—not only in a very difficult time as country, but also as a community.”
